How GamifyTL fits into a teacher’s class workflow from setup to file share
GamifyTL follows a host workflow of create, share, play, and review. Teachers prepare the session, students join with a code or QR, live results appear during class, and Resource Drop can send the materials people leave with.
Article Summary
See how teachers can fit GamifyTL into an existing workflow: prepare a room, invite the class, run a live activity with host control, review results, and share files by QR.
A workflow built for the host
GamifyTL describes the whole flow as create, share, play, and review. It is built for hosts who need people joining, answering, voting, playing, and leaving with the right materials. That is a teacher workflow, not a student homework loop. You prepare before class, run the room during class, and send files if the class should keep something.
Open GamifyTL as the host. Students never have to create an account to enter the room. They scan a QR or type a 6-digit code and use a nickname. Your workflow keeps the authoring and the live controls. Their workflow is join and respond.
Before class: create the room
Name the session, pick a tool, attach your content, and prepare files participants can download by QR. Full authoring control includes multiple-choice question banks with timers, diagrams for Target Hunt and Jigsaw puzzles, term pairs for Connect Dots, and PDF or PPT slide decks for QR downloads. Review that content, including anything produced with AI generation.
Check the plan limits you will hit that day: live players per room, active rooms, and Resource Drop size and retention. The free plan includes all 10 tools with 1 active room, up to 100 live players, and a 15 MB file for 7 days. Paid plans raise those limits. The pricing page is the source for current numbers.
At the start of class: share the join path
Put the QR on the projector and write the 6-digit code. Some phones will not scan well from the back of the room. The classroom guide tells teachers to keep the code visible. Students join in Chrome, Safari, Edge, or Firefox on the device they have. No app store step.
If a student cannot use the live interaction comfortably, have a non-timed or verbal alternative ready. That is part of the teacher workflow, not an extra product feature. The live room should not be the only way to participate.
During class: play, watch, and keep pace
Start the activity when the class is in. Complete host control over timers and pace means you can stop for explanation. Watch the live leaderboard and results on the host screen and on participant devices as the round progresses. Use that information to decide whether to reteach, move to another tool, or end the game.
Celebrate winners if that fits your classroom norms: crown top performers, note streak bonuses, and review final game stats. Then return to the concept. The workflow is not finished when the podium appears. It is finished when you have used the results.
After the activity: review and send materials
Review final stats while the class is still together. If you need a second format, switch tools rather than stretching one game past its task. If people should leave with slides or a worksheet, open Resource Drop, upload the file, show the QR, and say when it expires.
Keep original files in your own store. Resource Drop retention is 7, 14, or 28 days depending on the share and plan. It is not your archive. Managing the share from your account is the last host task in the session.
Between classes: devices, history, and licensing
You can move from a home laptop to a classroom PC. Signing in on a new device transfers the session and invalidates previous active logins. One named educator per account. That is how the workflow stays attached to the teacher who prepared the room.
Room history length depends on the plan. The free plan lists 7-day room history; paid plans list unlimited room history. Use history as a host record, not as a reason to skip reviewing content before the next class.
Fit GamifyTL around the lesson you already have
GamifyTL does not replace your scheme of work. It fits beside it as the live layer: a poll, a check, a game, a file. Teachers who want activity design can read how teachers use GamifyTL. Teachers who want less tool-switching can read making classroom activities easier. The workflow on the site itself remains create, join, watch, and share.
Start a GamifyTL session as the host
Create a room, share the join code or QR, run the live tool, and share files when the class needs the document.
